Our Mission
As long as I can remember I drew and painted. So I made it my profession. Or rather, my life. After the academy of fine arts a flourishing and succesful professional practice as an illustrator and designer, first in the middle of Dutch nature, later from my studio in the French Provence. Twenty years of Southern France!
Our Mission
Now back in the Netherlands… but the southern sun, the light and the ‘joie de vivre’ have done me very well. For some years now I have changed course and put an end to my commercial work. Now it is only paintings that I make. Beautiful paintings, because I like beauty and harmony. But there is always something strange in what I paint. After all, a woman who goes for a walk with an antelope is not completely normal. What happened? What’s going to happen? Actually, I just remained an illustrator. Only my paintings are now illustrations for a story you can make up yourself.

Shanin, my exclusive representative in the United States

Our Mission
Shanin Renee Dockrey
Gallerist
Exclusive US Representative for Théo Schildkamp
Sedona, Arizona, US
After fifteen years with a successful New York advertising agency, in 2017, Shanin Renee took a bold move to follow a passion—she began a career in the art community of Sedona and she has never looked back. Shanin thrives in everything art (the business side, that is). From gallery management and curation to marketing and representation, she is now a force in the art world in the Southwest US; however, she remains most proud being the exclusive representative of Dutch artist Théo Schildkamp.
“From the first moment I met Théo and saw his beautiful and creative artwork, I wanted to represent him in some way. Here we are today, and it is an honor to show his work in galleries, exhibitions, and online. I look forward with gratitude to a long and prosperous relationship.
“While I respect the gentleman and artist that Théo is, the best part of representing him is the look on someone’s face the first time they see one of his pieces. It’s as if they are seeing magic. It can be quite emotional. I truly love what I do.”
Shanin Renee holds a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and a master’s certificate in ecopsychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. She has lived in Greece, Mexico, New York, Arizona, and is originally from the coast of Southern California. Please visit Shanin Renee Art Gallery at https://shaninrenee.com to learn more.
